How Much Does A T-Shirt Weigh

How Much Does A T-Shirt Weigh ?

When you have an online selling business set, you have to ship many great t-shirts like the Crewneck t-shirt from Aviva Dallas, one of my favorites. Now the thing with online businesses is you have to put constraints on any additional costs you might have to incur if you didn’t take proper measures. A lot of t-shirts mean a lot of packaging, and shipping is one department that needs to be appropriate and most effective costing. Saving 20 or 30 cents per packaging doesn’t seem much, but businesses also don’t run this way. If a thousand packages are being sent worldwide, it sums up to 200-300$, which is substantial. So, it is imperative to get to know how much does a t-shirt weigh.

How Much Does A T-Shirt Weigh ?

Most big brands out there are very precise about the weights of their t-shirts. In our findings, we found out t-shirts weighing from 4 to 7 oz.

How much does a t-shirt weigh

How much does a t-shirt weigh is subjective from the material used in a t-shirt, the thickness, and manufacturing processes. Some brands use 100% premium cotton, making the shirt a lot lighter and comfortable to use, like Aviva Dallas, while some may use polyester or some other combination.  When packing up a t-shirt, the weight of not only the shirt counts, but also the paperwork, and sometimes the packaging itself or mailbag, if used, weigh almost 15gm separately. Use plastic mail bags; these have substantially less weight to them and are very practical. Here is the list of some top brands and how much their t-shirt weigh on average.

Why T-Shirt Weighs Matters ?

As mentioned earlier, t-shirts weigh around 4 to 7oz, and if your t-shirt is underweight, it probably isn’t premium. There is a very thin margin between being lightweight and durable. If you buy a t-shirt for one-time use or for summer wear, it may justify the shirt being underweight and less stable, but the majority weight matters a lot. Heavy-duty uniforms weigh as much as 6oz or more, but that’s primarily due to the high quality, extremely reliable, and tensile piece of cloth used in manufacturing. But this trend is more common, i.e., the more a t-shirt weight, the more durable it is. There are some exceptions to this as well. Every premium shirt will have one thing in common, they will provide very high strength to weight ratio while maintaining the quality. So, it is crucial to know how much does a t-shirt weigh as a prime deciding factor for your wearing.

On the manufacturing end, high weight means high shipping costs, and most of the buyers bear the shipping costs if the checkout amount exceeds a specific price. It is essential to manage your shirts by deciding the material used, manufacturing processes, and a lot of back-end decisions. It is a lot better to use 100% premium cotton, and most of the premium brands follow the same trend. Now, you have finally acknowledged how much does a t-shirt weigh.
